Brussels Sprouts

History:

This strange looking vegetable originated in Brussels, Belgium. The Germans aptly call Brussels Sprouts "rose cabbage."

Cooking Suggestions:

Blanch or steam whole sprouts until tender but still a vibrant green. They can also be halved, quartered, or sliced. Add brussels sprouts to stir frys, soups, or casseroles.
