In 2001 we started a whole new concept in Community Supported Agriculture (C.S.A.). A major goal of our C.S.A. program is to greatly increase the consumption and production of organic food in the Midwest bioregion. We believe that it is only by creating significant new markets for organic food that we can encourage large-scale conversion of conventional agriculture to sustainable methods. High prices have made organic food un-affordable to a very large segment of the population. We are working hard to change that. Our C.S.A. program is designed to be affordable and available to almost everyone in Chicago and suburbs.
The CSA was conceived and manifested by farmer Tom Ulick. Tom has a strong social and environmental commitment and nearly 40 years of experience as an organic vegetable farmer.
All of our endeavors are guided by the principles of sustainability and responsibility and by a deep reverence for the earth and all life. We constantly strive to maintain a harmonious and symbiotic integration between our human activities and the natural environment and wildlife. Empowering a new generation of organic farmers is a major focus for us. We have hosted many interns from across the U.S. and around the world. A number of growers rely on us for seed, technical advice, markets and other assistance. Thank you for supporting small business!
